{Lovely Pins} Dreaming of Spring

Is anybody else yearning for spring like me?  It's been such a cold winter here in Minnesota and the snow just won't stop, so with that in mind here are some spring colors to brighten your day.  Have a lovely weekend!

{Lovely Pins} Spring Favorites

One of my favorite things about spring is all the bright colors.  I also love spring flowers (tulips and ranunculus!!!) and temperatures that allow you to be in a dress with a sweater sans tights and coat.  I've always been the type of girl that needs to be by/in the water if it's hot out, otherwise I'd just assume be in the comfort of my air conditioner.  That's why spring and fall are my favorite seasons.

{Lovely Pins} Mint And Pink

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

So many fun little Valentine projects have me obsessing over the color combination of Mint and Pink.  No matter what shades of either color you use, the combination is so fun and pretty.

Happy Friday everybody!  Have a fantastic weekend!

{Lovely Pins} A Dash of Twinkle

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4

One of my favorite things this time of year is seeing all of the twinkling lights, so I thought it would be the perfect theme for this week's Lovely Pins.  I know that this time of year is busy (it's been crazy for me) and it's hard to find time to do anything extra, but make sure you stop and take time to take in the twinkle.  It'll be next year before you know it!

I hope you all have a great rest of the week!  I'll be back next week with some great last minute gift ideas for all of your loved ones!

{Lovely Pins} Unconventional Christmas Trees

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Nothing excites me more than picking out our Christmas tree every year.  That being said,
I've loved seeing all the unconventional Christmas trees that have been popping up on Pinterest!  It's so fun to see all the creative ideas people come up with.  I love getting a fresh tree, but I might have to do another "fun" tree down stairs.

{Lovely Pins} Black and White

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

There is something about black and white that just screams elegance.  This weeks Lovely Pins started with the top left photo, which if you're a regular reader you know tulle is one of my current Fashion Obsessions, and from there it was easy...well kind of.  There were SO many fabulous black and white pins that I think I could make at least 5 more boards, so I might just have to revisit good ole black and white in the future sometime.

Happy Friday everybody!  Have a great weekend!

{Lovely Pins} Thanksgiving

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

This Sunday we are hosting a little Thanksgiving with our friends that live in the area and my family (since they will be visiting).  These are just a few of the lovely ideas I found while scouring Pinterest.

I hope you all have wonderful plans to spend time with your loved ones this month for Thanksgiving!

{Lovely Pins} Orange

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

October is a month that screams orange.  It might be the changing leaves or all the pumpkins, but either way orange always makes me think of fall (which makes me happy because it's my favorite season hands down).

How do you all feel about the color orange?

{Lovely Pins} Japanese Washi Tape

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3
Happy Wednesday everybody, and Happy 31st Birthday to my amazing husband Jason!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week!

I'm guessing most of you are familiar with Japanese Washi Tape at this point.  If you're not, do yourself a favor, and order/buy some pronto.  Then hop on Pinterest to find lots of lovely projects to use your washi on.

I had seen washi around, but really didn't get too excited about it until I took a few classes from Leslie Shewring at The Creative Connection last fall.  After that I was pretty much hooked.  Now I have more rolls than I can count, and probably use it everyday (seriously).

Here are some more lovely washi pins.

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4
Washi is the best thing ever, if you're trying to spruce up a package.  I actually throw a little on every card that I send out.  Something Leslie had brought up was the idea that by making something pretty, you may actually end up brightening someone's day (think mail carrier).  I love this idea, and actually relate to it a lot.  Pretty things definitely make me happy.

Image Sources (clockwise from top): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Party decorations are another fabulous way to use washi.  I've made lots of cake decorations already, and I love the use of it in this guest book.

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3
It works great if you're trying to add a little fun to everyday objects.  A boring to-do list or calendar doesn't seem so mundane, when you add a little pop of color or a fun pattern.

Image Sources (from left): 1, 2, 3
Here are a few more fun uses around the house.  Create a window in a windowless room, the illusion of a headboard, or the look wallpaper for next to nothing.

Image Sources (from left): 1, 2
Lastly, think of all the fun things your kiddos could do with it.  I love this wall collage, and what a fun idea to make a racetrack for toy cars out of it!

So there you have it, lots of washi inspiration.  You can find it in many paper and craft stores now, but if you're having a problem getting some, you can always look online.  I've ordered a lot of mine from  Etsy.

Well that's it for me today.  I hope you all enjoyed today's Lovely Pins and have a great rest of the week!

{Lovely Pins} Fall Inspiration

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Happy September!  I hope you all are doing well!

Every year as soon as August is over I have Fall on the brain.  It is my favorite season by far (go ahead...call me crazy...you wouldn't be the first).  I love everything about it.  Here are just a few of the many Lovely Pins that I saw on Pinterest that have me excited for Fall.

Have a great weekend everybody!

{Lovely Pins} Yellow

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Happy Wednesday blog friends!  I hope you all are having a splendid week!  This week's Lovely Pins was inspired by some home improvements we've been making.  I was considering painting our master bath yellow, but my husband wasn't so into it.  I didn't put up much of a fight (none really) because there is another room in our house that has yellow written all over it (our sunroom...what's sunnier than yellow).

Well that's it for this week's Lovely Pins.  I hope you all have a fabulous day!

{Lovely Pins} Easter Inspiration

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Happy Tuesday everybody!  I hope you all have been well.  I have been extremely busy these last few weeks between company and traveling (and turning 29).  It was all a blast, but I'm excited for things to go back to normal for a while.

This week's Lovely Pins was inspired by this upcoming weekend, Easter.  I always get really excited for Easter because it is the holiday I host.  I've been gathering lots of inspiration as to what I should do this year, and Pinterest is by far the best place to find it.  I like how it's becoming "acceptable" to mix pastels and brights together.  I can't wait to show you all pictures of the finished result.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your week!

{Lovely Pins} A Little Green And Gold

Image Sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Happy Thursday everybody!  I hope you all are having a wonderful week.  I know I've been a little off the grid for a while, but life has been a little crazy.  It's not slowing down any time soon either.  I have loads to catch you all up on, but it might happen slowly.  Today we have loads of friends coming to town to watch college hockey (Go Sioux!) for the weekend.  Then we are off to Germany.  I'm going to try to make a post or two while I'm over there, but I don't want to promise anything.

Now onto this week's Lovely Pins.  The color green has always been one of my favorite colors.  It's the color I associate with spring because of all the green popping up.  I love seeing those little blades of perfect green poking through in our yard.  Gold and I however have a different story.  I've only began warming up to gold about a year ago, and now I'm starting to love it.  Jewelry, shoes, clothes, you name it, I probably have something in gold now.  Another reason I found Green and Gold perfect for this week, is because this weekend is St Patrick's Day!  I'm only a wee bit Irish, but I've always had fun celebrating!

Well that's it for this week's Lovely Pins.  I hope you all have a splendid weekend!

{Lovely Pins} A Different Shade of White

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Happy Wednesday blog friends!  I hope you are all having a great week so far!  This week's Lovely Pins is all about winter white, with a little bit of spring tossed in there for good measure.  We leave this weekend for our annual Winter Getaway with friends, so I have snow on my mind.  After it's over, I'm ready for spring to come!

I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

Happy Valentine's Day everybody!  I think it's easy to tell what inspired this week's Lovely Pin.  Have a wonderful day!

{Lovely Pins} Hot Pink

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Happy Tuesday everybody!  It doesn't matter if you call it florescent, neon, or hot pink.  One thing is for sure, it will grab your attention.  I never used to be a big fan of colors in the neon family, but then I saw this post from Leslie at A Creative Mint a while back.  I've been slowly warming up to them ever since (I'm almost fully on board).  I particularly love it when it is just used as a pop of color, paired with basic neutral colors.

Well that's it for this week's Lovely Pins.  I hope it brightened up your day a little!

{Lovely Pins} Polka Dots

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Happy Tuesday everybody!  This week's Lovely Pins were inspired by Polka Dots.  They always remind me of spring, and now that the holidays are over that's all I can think about.  I have been seeing a lot of them in my favorite store's spring lines too, so I guess I'm not alone.

I hope you all are having a great week so far!

{Lovely Pins} Blush and Coral

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Happy Tuesday everybody!  This week's Lovely Pins were inspired by an enameled chain link bracelet I bought last week from J Crew.  The two colors that really stand out on it are a soft pink and a beautiful coral.  It makes me happy just wearing it.

I hope you all are having a great week so far!

{Lovely Pins} Seafoam and Mint

Image Sources (clockwise from top left): 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7

Happy Wednesday everybody!  I was flipping through the channels the other day, and ended up watching the series finale of Sex and the City.  In this episode Carrie wears the amazing ballerina dress shown in the bottom middle pin.  It's all I could think about the rest of the day.  As the week has progressed I've been thinking about how wonderful my living room/kitchen would look in either seafoam or mint green, so as you can see they were the perfect color palette for this week's Lovely Pins.

I hope you all have a lovely day!
