{My Life} Until next year....

Hey everybody!  I wanted to pop and let you all know that I will be posting very little over the next few weeks.  Life, as it often does, has been getting in the way, and I don't see it getting any better with Christmas and New Year's coming up.  I may make a post here and there if I have time, but rest assure I will be back in full force in 2012.

Until then, Merry Christmas everybody!

{My Life} O Christmas Tree

Happy Monday everybody!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  I know we did.  We went out last week and purchased our first Christmas tree since we've been together.  We had a little fake one once in the townhouse when we first moved in, but I'm a real Christmas tree girl so it doesn't count.  We had planned to get it all decorated up the next day, but the branches hadn't fallen yet.  Then we decided to shoot for Thursday, but our poor puppy hurt his back.  Finally on Friday we got to decorate, and it looks beautiful.  We centered it in our sunroom, which can be seen from most of the rooms on our main level (and by our neighbors if they're paying attention).  It snowed here in the Twin Cities on Saturday, and it looked so pretty with all the snow falling in the windows surrounding it.

 I hope you all have (had) just as much fun as we did decorating your Christmas trees!  Have a great week!

{Holiday Giveaway} For that "little" someone special...Winner!

Good morning everybody!  Wow these weeks are just flying by!  It's officially December and we officially have snow in the Twin Cities, but enough about that on to the giveaway.  This weeks winner is (drum roll)....

Congratulations Danielle!  I checked out her blog, and she has a little guy due in less than a week!  I hope he enjoys his new Lil Baby and Blankie set and Santa book!  Everybody will have to send positive vibes her way for a save delivery!

{Soirees} Holiday Party Inspiration

Happy December everybody!  I thought I would kick off the month by sharing some Holiday Party inspiration with you all.  Our's is in a few weeks, so I've been scouring the internet (mostly Pinterest) for fabulous ideas.  I want to go with really bright and fun colors this year to match the great mantel piece I made this year and all the bright glittery ornaments we are going to put on the tree (tonight!).  Here is some of the inspiration I found.

The top left photo is one I found on Pinterest, but couldn't find the original home.  I love the cake and the use of presents to create height differences.  The tree is of course fabulous too, but it wouldn't work for my purposes.  I already ordered the straws in the top right photo from Shop Sweet Lulu.  I've used these straws for the last few parties I've thrown, and I'm still not sick of them yet.  The bottom left photo is from where else but HWTM.  I just found a pedestal bowl much like this at an antique store, and love how pretty these french macaroons look in it.  The bottom right photo is definitely my favorite and can be found on Such Pretty Things.  I don't know if I'm going to do a cake, but if I do I hope it's half as pretty as this one.
